I told the sales rep upfront that I knew the invoice price and that I had a CarCostCanada report, so we started negotiating up from the invoice price instead of down from the full retail price. I let him kept a fair 3% and I had the price I wanted. I paid 700$ less on the full retail price which turned out to be less than a 3% margin for the sales rep. In addition to that, I had the $500 grad incentive from Mazda Canada. Bottom line, I paid the car $1,200 less than the full retail price with a financing of 0% for 4 years. Great Deal !! | Jacques from Gatineau, QC reported on Monday, December 14, 2009, buying a 2009 Mazda MAZDA6, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP. Vehicle was named "vehicle of the year" in 2009 by many tests/reviews. Also, the style with round curves was extremely dynamic compared to other family cars like the Camry, Accord and Altima. I could also save a fair amount of money by buying a 2009 model which I intend to keep for the long term. The Passat CC and 2010 Acura V6 were also contenders, but in the end considered to be a bit too pricey and they both use premium gas, the same for the Altima V6. I went with Argus Mazda as it is very close to home and it has a good reputation. Using the wholesale Price report certainly helped me getting the most from the dealer. My savings are a testimony of that. |  | |
