May from Toronto, ON reported on Tuesday, November 09, 2010, buying a 2011 BMW 3 Series, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP.
A dealer emailed me from a different dealership about a demo model. I was able to get a sense of the discount I would get which was very good. Unfortunately, it had more features than we were willing to pay, even with discounts but had we been interested, this would have been a good mechanism to get some good deals.

I've bought from David before and I went back because he is honest, respectful upfront and has gone beyond the call for me. The service at the dealership is great and the services (shuttle, rental availability, lounge) are top notch. I told David I used Car cost as soon as I sat down and there was complete acceptance and willingness to work with their numbers. I ended up paying 3% above wholesale and all of the rebates and cashbacks listed on the site were honoured as well without question.

Roy from Toronto, ON reported on Tuesday, January 04, 2011, buying a 2010 BMW 3 Series, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP.
The wholesale report allowed me to set a starting offer by giving me insight into the available discounts and rebates. I was comfortable that although the discount requested was considerable, the offer was reasonable.

Julian from Toronto, ON reported on Monday, July 12, 2010, buying a 2010 BMW 3 Series, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP.

Not all factory incentives are listed in the car cost report - seems to be a lag from when incentive is announced to dealer and carcost is aware (no charge automatic still not reflected in carcost report) - ask for any recent factory incentives....

Glenn from Hamilton, ON reported on Sunday, December 20, 2009, buying a 2010 BMW 3 Series, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP.
Be up-front and say that you are a Car Cost Canada customer, and you will be treated fairly.

Great surface. When I went to the dealer with CarCost report in hand, he knew I meant business.

Location and recommendation by a service technician. Price report helped do negotiations.

George from Oakville, ON reported on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, buying a 2011 BMW 5 Series, and saving $9,000 off of MSRP.
The pricing details provided an extremely helpful guideline to negotiate a very competitive price and the knowledge also allowed me to decide very quickly which dealership I would deal with.

Aved from Richmond Hill, ON reported on Friday, November 06, 2009, buying a 2010 BMW 5 Series, and saving $9,000 off of MSRP.
This is one of the best tools for consumers I have ever used. I followed the advice from CarCostCanada of adding 3% to the dealer cost and then subtracted the manufacturer's incentive. Make sure you don't add the 3% to Freight and other taxes, just to the cost of the car and options. I then rounded the price up to the nearest hundred and cold-called BMW Toronto and told the salesman I want this model, these options at this price. I told them the price having already deducted the manufacturers' rebate. I offered my credit card number to show I'm serious. He called back in 15 minutes and told me it was a deal. The savings in total were over $8100. It was like ordering a pizza. In today's economy you should have no problems in getting a car with 3% mark-up. With the manufacturers' rebate, it ended up being below dealer cost!

Sanjay from Toronto, ON reported on Sunday, January 25, 2009, buying a 2009 BMW 5 Series, and saving $8,000 off of MSRP.

Robert from London, ON reported on Friday, May 18, 2007, buying a 2008 BMW 5 Series, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP.
I chose the dealer in part because it was a corporate owned dealer (BMW Canada) and had significantly more inventory than our local dealer. Knowing the markup definitely helps negotiations when you work backwards from the retail price to their cost, then add on a reasonable profit for them. I went with a colleague who was also buying a 2008 BWM (535xi, in her case), so buying 2 cars in one visit made their work easy.

The dealer we chose was close to home, but the Car Cost Canada report helped us immensely in the negotiation process. We were very happy with the deal.

Rajat from Markham, ON reported on Friday, August 12, 2011, buying a 2011 BMW X3, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP.
CCC configures the price by taking the dealer invoice price and then adding a percentage for dealer profit. Once you walk into a dealership however you will find that they operate slightly differently. Most dealers work from MSRP and then subtract a discount percentage. I suggest making both of these calculations yourself at home to save yourself any surprises.

Daniel from Toronto, ON reported on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, buying a 2011 BMW X3, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP.
The CarCostCanada report provided me with the pricing information that I needed to negotiate with confidence. That peace of mind is itself worth the price of membership.

Gordon from Pickering, ON reported on Tuesday, May 08, 2012, buying a 2012 BMW X5, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP.
No pressure from salesperson and a very relaxed experience. The report gives you a secure feeling knowing that the dealer cannot inflate the price beyond a reasonable profit of 2%-3%

Robert from Bracebridge, ON reported on Saturday, January 28, 2012, buying a 2011 BMW X5, and saving $7,000 off of MSRP.

Michael from Toronto, ON reported on Tuesday, April 07, 2009, buying a 2009 BMW X5, and saving $9,000 off of MSRP.
Negotiations were simple once I told them I was a car cost member. I would get at least 2 dealers to compete for your business. I used the report by telling the dealer what I thought was a fair profit and they had to convince me what they thought was fair. The dealer in my case was very professional and I would recommend them. They indicated that the usual discount they give customers is 3% off the retail price and if they negotiate really hard the odd time they will let a vehicle go with a 5% discount. The dealer made just under a 3% profit with my purchase, negotiations took about 20 minutes and everyone was happy.

Kenneth from Port Hope, ON reported on Saturday, April 18, 2009, buying a 2009 BMW X5, and saving $9,000 off of MSRP.

Gideon from Toronto, ON reported on Thursday, November 20, 2008, buying a 2008 BMW X5, and saving $10,000 off of MSRP.
In my case, I bought a demo. When combined with the various incentives from BMW, I saved about $12,000. I didn't really use the report, because they were sufficiently motivated to give me a deal. However, it did give me some comfort.
