| Larissa from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, January 06, 2011, buying a 2011 Toyota 4Runner, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. The dealer made an error on the pricing and threatened me with a lawsuit when they discovered the error. I'd already had the vehicle for several days and voluntarily went back and paid the difference, not because they threatened me but because it was the right thing to do...I will not return there for service or purchase in the future... | ![]() | |

| Jason from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, September 03, 2009, buying a 2010 Toyota Camry, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. Heninger Toyota does not deliver the car as promised. I went to Charlesglen Toyota instead, and they offered the car on time and price matched against other dealership. | ![]() | |

| Edith from Calgary, AB reported on Wednesday, August 05, 2009, buying a 2010 Toyota Corolla, and saving $1,000 off of MSRP. Charlesglen accepted our report and matched the price savings from another dealer based on the report. We choose this dealer because of the convenience of the location for servicing and the club advantage to joining with them. Their sales rep did the best job of selling compared to other places. | ![]() | |

| Jamie from Calgary, AB reported on Sunday, June 14, 2009, buying a 2010 Toyota Corolla, and saving $1,000 off of MSRP. I purchased this vehicle because I was previously considering the Yaris, but the Corolla has a similar fuel efficiency, but more safety features at a cost of $1000 more in MSRP. I chose this dealer because for me, the location was great, and the staff was extremely friendly, and informative. As soon as I the salesman saw I had a Car Cost Report, they brought in the manager who immediately started to negotiate for a Cost + 5% deal. I would recommend negotiating for a price near cost, and waiting for them to say that the deal is "below cost" before you show them you know what cost is. This then puts the power in your court because you immediately show that you have done your homework. | ![]() | |

| Dale from Calgary, AB reported on Friday, September 05, 2008, buying a 2009 Toyota Corolla, and saving $1,000 off of MSRP. I actually bought 2 new cars from Charlesglen Toyota. A 2009 Corolla and a 2009 Matrix. I used the reports in the negotiations, and they really work. I started dealing and finally got their best price. I then found CCC online, subscribed, ran a report, took it in and they lowered the price. | ![]() | |

| Andrew from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, November 06, 2008, buying a 2009 Toyota Highlander, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. I could have gotten a slightly better price from the dealer that ccc sent the information to (High River Toyota) but it would have been an hour's drive rather than 5 minutes to get there. Convenience won out in the end. I handed the dealer the CCC price report and didn't really try to negotiate. I also told them about the offer from the dealer ccc sent my details too. They didn't match it but they did better than I expected and felt the price they offered seemed fair. | ![]() | |

Start low and negotiate to somewhere you are happy with. Make sure you consider how much you like the salesman you are dealing with. If he is a dud then you may have problems later on. | ![]() | |

| Kris from Calgary, AB reported on Friday, January 22, 2010, buying a 2010 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. Do your Research and be assertive with the information that you have. I mentioned that I am aware of their mark-ups and can appreciate a generous markup. I knew their bottom line and negotiated easily a good deal for both of us! Know and take advantage of company incentives. Toyota has an RBC gift card rebate on right now. | ![]() | |

| cliff from calgary, AB reported on Friday, April 03, 2009, buying a 2009 Toyota RAV4, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. I used my price report as a quick negotiation to get something that I felt was equitable for both the dealer and myself. I could have haggled more, but I hope that by not doing that I will have built up some dealer-consumer relationship that will help if we ever find ourselves in a grey area with respect to warranty or other issues. We had other dealers say that they could beat the price and that their rewards program was better, but when it came to getting them to put it in writing, they always seemed to falter. My advice is to pick a dealer that you want to work with, and work to the price you want. Make it clear to them though that there are other dealerships that will give you the price (of course you should have it in writing) and that you are not there to pressure them in to selling for less than they want. You must always be willing to walk away and go to the other dealership if the negotiations break down. Edmonton always provided a better price than Calgary - but the Calgary dealerships don't need to know from where you received your quote. | ![]() | |
| Bruce from Calgary, AB reported on Monday, April 27, 2009, buying a 2009 Toyota RAV4, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. I saved 5.2% off MSRP by comparing prices between three dealers and having a friend share their experience with me. The latter was invaluable. | ![]() | |
| Vic from Calgary, AB reported on Friday, December 12, 2008, buying a 2009 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. I showed the Wholesale Price Report at the beginning of our negotiations and they immediately dropped $800 from the retail price. I bargained further down from there. | ![]() | |

| Stew from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, July 03, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. We chose Charlesglen because of their proximity to our home and we had seen Dean first when we were looking. He did not try to pressure us into a sale whereas other dealerships wanted us to act right now in order to get a deal done. I used the WPR to show that they would still be making a reasonable mark-up/profit and that they weren't getting screwed on the deal, just as I wasn't prepared to get screwed either! It was also useful as a checklist for receiving the car and checking for options, etc. | ![]() | |
| Nathan from Calgary, AB reported on Sunday, June 15, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. We chose this dealer as it was the dealership nearest to our home. After having the car cost canada wholesale report - we had an idea of what we wanted to pay & this dealership agreed to 5% above invoice. I directly provided Charlesglen the report when it came time to negotiate the price. Before I had the report the initial discussion was they may discount the price $300. After I had the report - they agreed to $1,088 discount on the Rav4 Limited V6. | ![]() | |

| Don from Calgary, AB reported on Tuesday, September 09, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota Tundra, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP. The price and "carcostcanada" print out was what really mattered, the sales reps are largely irrelevant. | ![]() | |
| Sandra from Calgary, AB reported on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota Tundra, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP. The Sales Manager at the dealer came right out and told us that if everyone he sold to used Car Cost Canada, that it would be so much easier to sell cars. The pricing he used was almost identical to what we had, so there was no haggling at all required. We went 4% above cost and everyone was happy. | ![]() | |
