Mike from Ottawa, ON reported on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, buying a 2011 Audi A3, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP.
There is only one Audi dealer in Ottawa. Other Audi dealers are in Montreal and would not offer the same discount we received in Ottawa. Supply/demand is at a lower ratio in Montreal, therefore Montreal dealers are not willing to lower their margin. Audi has back order on the Q5 and A3. These models are less likely to have factory rebates. But you can leverage what BMW is currently offering $3,500 off the 3-series.

Quality of product, sales rep attitude and ability to negotiate transaction at a very professional level. Look for a dealer that is willing to address your needs and goals clearly.

Michael from Ottawa, ON reported on Friday, October 23, 2009, buying a 2010 Audi A4, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP.
The wholesale price report gave me an idea how far I could negotiate with a dealer that is known for not negotiating, particularly when there are almost no cars immediately available.

Kamy from Orleans, ON reported on Tuesday, November 04, 2008, buying a 2009 Audi A4, and saving $2,500 off of MSRP.
Here in Ottawa, Mark Motors is the only Audi dealership there is, so not a big bargaining chip. If you don't mind driving a few extra kilometers, I'd suggest going to Toronto for a bigger cut in the end.

Levent from Ottawa, ON reported on Wednesday, October 01, 2008, buying a 2009 Audi A4, and saving $2,500 off of MSRP.
Be prepared in advance and bring research materials to the negotiations. Establish a realistic limit and stick to it.

John from Ottawa, ON reported on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, buying a 2008 Audi A4, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP.
The salesman, Randy Sullivan was very tight in his negotiation - He was like a salesperson with aspergers - He had his routine and had difficulty varying his routine to accommodate the customer. We failed to come to a settlement on the vehicle price on my first visit and I left, fully expecting NOT to buy the car. The sales manager, Paul Renault (excellent experience with him - Can't say enough as to how well and honest he was with me) called me back 5 days later and offered me the car (including the trade-in) at the price I was willing to pay. Based on my review of the value of my vehicle (used) and the wholesale report, I felt I offered a reasonable amount. It's a negotiation game they play, and we need to play along.

The recommended 3~5% is quite generous. Add no more than 3% was my bottom line. Knowing the whole sale prices really made the car buying experience pleasant.

Robert from Ottawa, ON reported on Thursday, December 22, 2011, buying a 2012 Audi Q5, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP.
The Q5 in our view was the best value for the money. It has a very strong rating for its class, and many options are built into each options category. Other vehicles required upgrades from their so-called premium packages which we felt was chincy for spending this kind of money. The dealer did not want to "deal" at first making the relationship very difficult, but with homework we managed to get a better deal, but only after some tough slogging.

Brian from Nepean, ON reported on Sunday, June 20, 2010, buying a 2010 Audi Q5, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP.
First, I purchased a 2011 model Q5 which is not yet listed as an option in the menu. The CarCostCanada report enabled me to understand the extent of dealer mark-up and to negotiate a fair selling price. Without this information I would not have understood the differential between dealer invoice and MSRP. I had previously done my research and decided that the Q5 was going to be my next vehicle. I currently have a 2005 Nisaan Murano SE and while it has been the best overall vehicle I have ever owned, I did not like the 2nd generation styling and therefore decided upon the Q5. While Mark Motors is the only Audi dealer in Ottawa, they did want to get my business and provided me with a somewhat reasonable discount. The sales rep was very knowledgeable and persistent in getting the deal to close.

Marc from Stittsville, ON reported on Monday, November 09, 2009, buying a 2010 Audi Q5, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP.
I discovered the Audi Suppliers Program, which offers excellent discounts if you work for a company that supplies Audi Canada. http://canada.audisupplier.com/CE/

Be sure to check and re-check and then triple check your contracts with these guys... quite the sneaky bunch. I had to have my contract re-written an outstanding 6 times!! From the price being agreed to, term of length, interest rate, security deposit, to trade-in... still awaiting the difference on trade-in and what was left to finance (payout) for the vehicle, after 7 weeks. Unfortunately the only Audi dealer in the Ottawa region. The wholesale report was helpful, but not entirely accurate. Be sure to check dealer/manufacturer websites for latest incentives and comparison to WR. In my case, it was a difference of $2500 not included in WR.

Once I mentioned that I was familiar with the Wholesale price for the car, the MSRP talk stopped, and the "discount prices" talk started!
