| Carlos from Oakville, ON reported on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, buying a 2009 Nissan Altima, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP. By having the wholesale price I was able to save $2500 on my car purchase. It is a great tool to have when buying a car. | ![]() | |
| Richard from St Catharines, ON reported on Wednesday, August 06, 2008, buying a 2008 Nissan Altima, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. After visiting several dealerships using the report 3 came to the same best price so I ended up going with a sales person I liked. | ![]() | |
| Glen from Oakville, ON reported on Saturday, August 18, 2007, buying a 2008 Nissan Altima, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. The price report was helpful, but don't necessarily go with the recommended dealer. Shop around. | ![]() | |
| Ryan from Waterloo, ON reported on Monday, December 17, 2007, buying a 2008 Nissan Altima, and saving $4,000 off of MSRP. Background Info: Note that the wholesale price report does not include $75 Fuel Tax and $200 Dealer Cost for the $1,500 Nissan Pre-Paid VISA Rebate. Also note that the Nissan Pre-Paid VISA Rebate is $1,500 not $500 as shown on wholesale report. You can also use this as a downpayment, and don't have to receive it as a VISA card (which comes in the mail 3 weeks later). In addition, note that Oakville Nissan charges a $249 Administration & Registration fee. Apparently this is a "standard" fee for Nissan dealerships whether they disclose it separately or not. On the invoice this line item was hard printed on all carbon copies. Finally, note that some dealers were giving 5% GST and some were not. In the end, I noticed that if I did get the 1% discount, the dealer's profit was approximately $300 higher (since 1% of a $30,000 car is $300). So you would "pay" for the 1% either in markup or in the GST. Purchase Methodology: I emailed 20+ dealers to get prices on a 2008 Altima 2.5 SL sedan with the wholesale price report attached. I noted what the dealer cost was and asked them for their best price including profit/markup based on that starting price (i.e. I negotiated up from cost rather than down from MSRP). Most complied willingly, and the average markup was between $500 and $1000. When I had selected the best offer, I confirmed numbers over the phone and booked a time to close the deal (all without ever setting foot in a showroom). Once in the showroom the dealer noted that if I did not use the promotional financing rates (3.9% for 48 months), I could use the $2,000 pre-tax, non-stackable Factory to Dealer Trading Dollars with a 6.99% financing rate in addition to the price I had previously negotiated. This worked out even better for me than having a higher base price and lower 3.9% finance rate. I walked out the door 1 hour later having paid over $3,500 less than MSRP. | ![]() | |

| Brian from Simcoe, ON reported on Sunday, January 18, 2009, buying a 2008 Infiniti EX35, and saving $8,000 off of MSRP. Do plenty of research in order to determine the right vehicle for your needs. Compare manufacturers as well as dealerships. After sales service should be a high priority. Finally choose a salesperson that knows their product but is not pushy and give yourself plenty of time to negotiate your purchase. We took about 6 months to make our final decision and optimum deal. Oakville Nissan/Infiniti are a top notch dealership. This is our second Infiniti from this dealer and we used the Car Cost Canada price report for both purchases. | ![]() | |

| Robert from Burlington, ON reported on Tuesday, November 04, 2008, buying a 2008 Infiniti G35 Sedan, and saving $8,000 off of MSRP. Oakville Infiniti was the closest dealer. I was able to use the wholesale report and incentive information to obtain an additional discount. The dealer squeezed the trade-in value somewhat - it did not reflect the Black book value. | ![]() | |

| Satinder from Oakville, ON reported on Saturday, September 05, 2009, buying a 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan, and saving $6,000 off of MSRP. I actually happened to deal with the Fleet Manager because the other Sales Managers were busy and he offered me fleet pricing (no haggling). | ![]() | |

| Gilbert from Oakville, ON reported on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, buying a 2009 Nissan Maxima, and saving $10,000 off of MSRP. Jacqui was knowleable about the various vehicles we were looking at and took the time to answer our question. Do your homework, compare options and vehicles. Sometimes what you think is more expensive can actually be the cheaper option when calculating in the packages, cash back option etc. Look at the bottom line price. | ![]() | |

| Brad from Guelph, ON reported on Friday, January 29, 2010, buying a 2010 Nissan Rogue, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP. Purchased this vehicle for ~$500 over invoice with no additional dealer fees. Jason and Brian were excellent to deal with and understand how to negotiate with CarCostCanada buyers. This vehicle was purchased by my mother-in-law and we'll be picking it up this evening. | ![]() | |
