We were looking for a reliable, low-maintenance SUV with 3rd row seating and decent towing capacity. We narrowed it down to the Pilot vs the Highlander. In the end, we chose the Highlander for a number of reasons. It had more towing capacity (5000lbs vs 4500lbs), better fuel economy, and a better offering of standard features at the base model (backup camera, 6-disc changer, power rear door, power adjustable driver's seat etc...). Once we made our decision we went into the dealership, armed with the report and knowing what sort of margin the dealer had to work with. At our first visit their initial offer was actually very reasonable ("throwing in" a $900+ towing package). We countered by asking for an additional discount, and we received it. We didn't show them the report at any point in the negotiations, but having the information, we knew that the final price we negotiated was more than fair (and that we had every right to ask for it). In the end we paid roughly 5-6 percent above cost. For us, the report gave us peace of mind that we weren't leaving money on the table. |  | |

My previous vehicle was a Highlander and I didn't like how they took the 2008 Highlander "up-scale". The RAV4 is a great vehicle for a far less expense. In current market conditions where only the foreign manufacturers are doing reasonably well, there was not a lot of room for dealing with for the very popular RAV 4 but overall with trade-in and extras, I am satisfied with the ultimate deal. The 0% financing was a seller! I will avoid the Saint John Toyota Service Department as much as I can as they are very pricey with their standardized pricing setup. | | |

I used the Car Cost Canada report to negotiate $1000 savings on my 2010 Sienna. I will be using the price reports again on my next purchase - but it will not be a Toyota or from Saint John Toyota. I know they have a good product but their customer service was terrible. We were not treated fairly on the value of our trade in, we were told that the make/model we wanted was not available for several months but then is showed up to be their shuttle 2 weeks after we bought, and 3 days after we signed the deal the interest rates changed but neither the dealership or Toyota Canada would give us a break. I will use Car Cost Canada again but I will not be buying another vehicle from Saint John Toyota. |  | |
