I chose this dealership because they made a better offer for my trade-in (after 1 hour of negotiations). Same sales tactics... they will try to rush you and will try to dominate over you. Patience and remembering your final numbers is key, I find. (regarding trade-in and purchase) Having the wholesale price report helped greatly with the purchase portion of the process took about 10 minutes.

Waited till month end, and got an explorer XLT at invoice so that the sales person could hit their target. Worked out well for both me and the dealer, they only had the car on there lot for 3 days and I got a great price on a car.

I took the CarCost report with me to the dealership with a mark-up percent that I would be happy with. Negotiations took approximately 15 seconds.

David from Bradford, ON reported on Tuesday, March 06, 2012, buying a 2012 Ford F-150, and saving $10,000 off of MSRP.
I scheduled an appointment with the recommended rep, Andy Brooks at the recommended dealer in Aurora, McAlpine Ford, and had a terrible experience. He emailed me the day before our appointment to bump me due to him wanting to schedule another customer for my meeting time with him, without my confirmation to do so. I did not read my email that day so, I arrived at the dealer the morning of my appointment and had to wait 90 minutes past my appointment time. Then the rep was very arrogant and did not offer any additional savings off of the vehicle. I had enough, I went to another Ford dealer, Shannahan Ford in Newmarket, and had such a great experience that I bought the vehicle on the spot. Andy at McAlpine lost the sale because I intended to buy a truck that day, which I did, just not through him.

Keep in mind the value of your trade in and the price report and the difference you want to pay. The dealer was recommended to me by a friend, great place, laid back and very friendly. I would highly recommend it to anybody in the market for a new car.

I chose Ford Escort because of good gas milage, comfort and technology in car. Advice: (1) Go to several dealers and get dealer's 'best price', then ask other dealer to 'beat it'. (2) You won't get a good deal on your trade in so sell privately .....ask dealer to handle the paper work in order for you to buy their car (some dealers may say no then go to a dealer that will do this).

Christopher from Mississauga, ON reported on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, buying a 2008 Ford Taurus X, and saving $10,000 off of MSRP.
The Taurus X was a good deal for several reasons. First, Ford didn't market the vehicle well, so demand was low. Dealers were anxious to get rid of what they had. Second, because of the low demand, residual value on this model is low. Not much of an issue if you plan to keep the car as I do. Third, ask for the build date. My 2008 Taurus X had a build date of July 2007, which meant they had been carrying it for 18 months and were ready to move it at just about any price. Knowing the Wholesale price helped me figure a price that allow the dealer to get most of his money out of the car but still leave me with a great deal. At the end of the day, I paid about $1350 less than wholesale for a fully loaded AWD vehicle that I'm extremely happy with. With Ford's incentives thrown in, I paid about $14000 less than MSRP.
