| axel from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, December 04, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota Highlander, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP. Negotiate at the end of the month. I ended up paying 3% above dealer cost based on the CCC report. I did not find any other dealer willing to go below or meet the 3% margin. I was upfront in letting the saleperson know the information I was working with and who else I was speaking with, which I found to be effective in negotiating. Don't go through the dealer to get any protection packages - it's half the price at specialty shops that do that kind of work, based on what the dealer offered. | ![]() | |

| Wojciech from Calgary, AB reported on Sunday, November 15, 2009, buying a 2010 Toyota Prius, and saving $1,000 off of MSRP. There was a bit too much pressure from the rep to my liking, but he gave us a good deal, and once we decided to buy the experience was actually very good. He followed up and answered our questions and the other people we dealt with were very helpful and friendly. There is a $300 dealer fee. I really like the car so far (though it's been only a few days). | ![]() | |
| Marie-France from Calgary, AB reported on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota Prius, and saving $500 off of MSRP. A combination of consumer reports and the wholesale price report helped me determine which car was best suited for my needs, as well as help me negotiate extras and price. | ![]() | |

| David from Calgary, AB reported on Thursday, February 23, 2012, buying a 2012 Toyota Prius v, and saving $2,500 off of MSRP. Asked several dealers for a quote and took the best. The winning bid was better than that of the local dealer participating in Car Cost Canada, and left the dealer with just under $1000 profit. I obtained a written commitment that there would be no additional costs, and specifically that there would be no licensing and registration charge. I can complete that myself. I never mentioned the report, and simply used it to estimate a fair profit for the dealer. Reached my goal with no need to dicker. Excellent experience. | ![]() | |

| helen from calgary, AB reported on Friday, June 25, 2010, buying a 2010 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. Choice of the dealer and vehicle based on friends recommendation for dealership and the vehicle on reliability. The wholesale report was valuable in knowing the incentives and of course the wholesale price. I offered 5% over the wholesale and went near the end of the month. They seemed interested in knowing where and how I would have access to their wholesale information which was kind of hard to believe so thanks for the info it made the 4 hour negiotiation a little less stressful. They obviously must make huge profits on folks that are not using car cost information as they started out their neg. about $1500 over the MRSP price. I think I did okay. | ![]() | |
| helen from calgary, AB reported on Tuesday, November 08, 2011, buying a 2010 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,500 off of MSRP. Reviewed the process recommended. Much less haggling over the price of the vehicle which made the buy easier. The only haggling was what they would give me for the trade in which I had looked up in the black book so it wasn't too bad. They made their percentage and I am happy with the vehicle. | ![]() | |
| James from Calgary, AB reported on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, buying a 2010 Toyota RAV4, and saving $1,000 off of MSRP. I went in with a fair price over the wholesale report and the deal was done quickly. Great guys to work with. The default contact through Car Cost Canada; High River, was pretty awful though. The sales guy (Bob Shaw) left me about 10 messages and wouldn't leave me alone - and he also wouldn't quote me a price via e-mail or over the phone - the dealership is about 45 min away, so I didn't want to waste my time. I opted to deal with a dealership that I personally visited. | ![]() | |
| John from Calgary, AB reported on Tuesday, June 02, 2009, buying a 2009 Toyota RAV4, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. The dealer was very easy to deal with and there was no haggling over the price that I wanted to pay. Car cost Canada is a great way to get the vehicle you want at a fair price. | ![]() | |

| Andrew from Calgary, AB reported on Friday, February 29, 2008, buying a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP. I brought them the report and showed it to them. I took the Invoice Cost and added 3.75%. I told them, "I will buy this truck from you for this price. If you can do that, bring me the paperwork." 5 minutes later he showed up with the deal in hand. | ![]() | |
