Stephen from Markham, ON reported on Thursday, October 09, 2008, buying a 2009 Volvo C30, and saving $5,000 off of MSRP.
Chose the vehicle because of the quality, safety, styling and fuel efficiency. Chose the dealer because it was close to home and the sales staff was very professional, helpful and efficient. She didn't play the regular "sales" games and respected my time. Having driven the car on a previous occasion, I made the entire focus of that interaction the negotiation. The Wholesale Price Report was extremely helpful in planning and executing the negotiation that ultimately led to a successful deal. Having the report let me inform the sales rep that I had researched information about the wholesale price of the car, knew about dealer holdback (info gained from the Tips & Advice section of the Website) and recognized that they were a business and needed to make a reasonable profit. Also, given the information I had, I was upfront that I believed we should be able to get the deal done within 30 minutes. I set my offer at approximately 3.5% above wholesale price found in the report and that was accepted by the dealership. The whole negotiation process from start to the finish of the paperwork took about 35 minutes. Best car buying experience I ever had and this Wholesale Price Report played an integral part in having this unfold as it did.

Vernon from North York, ON reported on Saturday, July 09, 2011, buying a 2012 Volvo S60, and saving $3,000 off of MSRP.
The Car Cost Canada report was actually not as helpful as I thought it would be. Peter made us an offer and then we told him that we had a Car Cost Canada report and after comparing the information, it turns out he was charging us only around $200 above the wholesale price, not including tax or the interest rate for leasing. And as usual, we were able to get him to throw in floor mats, locking wheel nuts, and touch up paint for free with our car purchase.

Anil from Toronto, ON reported on Thursday, February 23, 2012, buying a 2012 Volvo S60, and saving $2,000 off of MSRP.
The wholesale price report was helpful in negotiating the deal because I knew how much room the dealer had to negotiate. Unfortunately, the car companies and dealer are charging a bunch of additional charges (lease fee, admin charges) that are not known ahead of time. The sales rep claimed these are not negotiable but I think, this is just added to their profit margin.

CarCost report is a MUST for everyone buying a new car.

Compared XC60 to GLK and Q5, preferred the styling, comfort and ride of XC60. GLK had a far too small interior, Q5''s ride was a little harsh. By emailing three different dealerships with an offer of 47k OTR, Unionville was the first to call and accept (after trying to negotiate a higher price). Having the invoice pricing was a great advantage!

Use the invoice cost and incentives to start your negotiations. I started at 0.5% above and went from there.

PAUL from MARKHAM, ON reported on Monday, July 27, 2009, buying a 2009 Volvo XC90, and saving $7,000 off of MSRP.
I chose the dealer for location convenience. I used the price reports to better understand the dealer's starting point and bottom line so I knew if I was getting a fair deal or not.

Douglas from Toronto, ON reported on Tuesday, April 07, 2009, buying a 2008 Volvo XC90, and saving $8,000 off of MSRP.
I used the Wholesale Price Report to establish a baseline for what I was willing to pay for the vehicle, i.e. cost plus x%. When both parties have the same information, negotiations are more meaningful (you can't deny facts) and save time.
