There’s Nothing Trashy About This Car Other Than The License Plate

Vincent and his Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Vincent Iafrate has a thriving trash business, but there is nothing trashy about his company car, which is a 2019 Porsche GT3RS and has TRASHINC as his license plate.

Vincent has a waste removal and recycling service based in Mississauga, Ontario that he started in 2013 and the slogan is No Job Is Too Small Or Too Big.

“I’m very fond of the accomplishment of my business, and that’s what’s paid for the car,” said the 37-year-old, who purchased the Porsche four years ago. “I think it’s a good representative of myself, so that’s why I decided to go with it. Everyone knows me as the Trash Man. That was originally the license plate I wanted to get.”

But it was already registered taken when Vincent applied for a personalized plate with Service Ontario.

He bought the car, which only had 927 kilometres on it, from Pfaff Porsche in Vaughn.  He was shopping for a car capable of racing on a track and had looked at Lamborghinis, McLarens and Corvettes. A friend of his who knew Vincent was shopping for a high performance car and mentioned the available Porsche.

He’s driven the car often at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville.

I happened to see and hear Vincent driving around. His car is loud, real loud, because he’s made several modifications.

The combination of the car’s sporty look, noise and license plate have generated all kinds of comments, positive and negative.

“Some people are very excited, ecstatic and tell me it’s their dream car and ask to take pictures, but some people don’t like it because they don’t like noise or me getting attention or whatnot, so it’s a mixed reaction for both,” he said. “People ask me what do you do for a living and how do afford it? I tell them about the business that I’m in, but it’s more than that. I can teach you stuff from A to Z , but I can’t teach you my personality and I can’t teach you my character. That’s a huge part. I can meet you and become your best friend in five minutes and a lot of people can’t do that.”

Which is to say Vincent has a car that very much reflects who he is.

The car he’d really like to own is a Ferrari because that’s his brand of choice.

“I’ve been a Ferrari fan since I was a little kid,” he said. “Growing up I thought once I worked hard and achieved everything, I can go and buy everything I want and do everything I want, but I came to this realization you can’t always get what you want. While a friend and I were shopping around for a car, I spotted the 488 Pista but I knew there was no way I could get one. Unless you are part of the Ferrari club you’re not getting that car – no matter how much money you have – unless you want to buy it second-hand and pay a huge premium for it. I might have to work harder or figure something out if I want to upgrade to that car, but I’m very happy with the one I have. I’m very blessed and fortunate to have that.”
